Gus Storms to County Title, Zoe takes silver, and Men the Team

It was a bit of a Belgrave happy hour at this old favourite in the calendar.  With a course that's a tad quicker than its old counterpart the Dysart Dash, but still on the sluggish side, Gus Upton ran a solo race from 2.5k with Epsom's Ollie Garrod only keeping distant touch.  Reaching the half in 16 flat, Gus gave a little back over the second half, but it was still a PB by well over a minute for this very focussed athlete, who looks forward to seeing what he can do over a quick course, with company.Backing him up was Andrius, who couldn't bear to forego his beloved Parkrun the day before (a win at Bushy), but still held up well here for 3rd.Non-Surrey man Matt Taylor showed that his running fortunes are on the up again, while your correspondent continues his slide, but was happy to walk away with a Surrey Team gold, with just 3 points to spare. In the women's race, Zoe Vail Smith felled her 10k pb that's stood for over six years, and had an electrifying finish to outlean Herne Hill's unsuspecting Edwards for 3rd in the open race, and grab Surrey silver. Results
