Rosenheim Match 2 Report

Rosenheim League, Match 2

Croydon, Wednesday 25 May 2016

Team Manager Adam Cameron Reports

The match which proves each year to be a difficult one for attendance proved just that, with only handful of athletes able to maintain Belgraves place at the summit of the table.
In the Womens events, Maureen Noel filled in for the team in almost half of the female events, picking up points for the 100m, 200m, 1500m and Long Jump. The reliable Jodie Albrow showed class once again easily winning the 400m hurdles in an impressive time. Helen White, still getting used to track events, ran and held an impressive 3000m clocking in at under 12 minutes.
In the mens, Michael McBrinn continued to represent Belgrave highly in the leagues, but couldn’t follow his pb’s from the Southern League just days before, running a strong 100m and 400m before finding the energy to score in the mens 200m. Jeremy Oldacre came in for the mens 800m and proved to be a strong competitor, finishing second and holding form with the eventual winner for the most part of the race, with Ben Hurley running a solid race and time in the non score event. Mike Burslem continued an impressive season with a pb in the 400m and winning the 100m outright, holding off Herne Hill competition. Sam Shore continues to compete at the highest standard, easily winning the 400m hurdles in a very impressive time, despite start troubles in previous sprint outings. Andy Sole clocked up some distance throughout the event, completing non score runs in the 800m, 1500m and 3000m with strong times throughout. Ed Auden was the star of the show, comfortably winning the 3000m against a strong field, only minutes before a spring in the 200m relay. In the field Chris Privett and Tom Ikeda picked up points and filled in the the jumps, with both finishing second in the discuss and shot put respectfully. The night was again rounded off with the relay, with Belgrave just losing out to Corydon over the line, with a mammoth effort from Ed Auden with no doubt mass fatigue in the legs, Sam Shore, Mike Burslem and Adam Cameron filling up the sprint finish.
Belgrave finish first and still hold top of the table despite a shaky turn out, with a big thanks from the team manager for those making the trip.
