Nick Goolab wins English 10k Championships with course record at Brighton

Belgrave's Nick Goolab was crowned English 10k Champion by winning the Brighton Marathon Weekend 10k on Sunday.

His time of 28:22 was a personal best, a course record and the fastest road 10k by any Briton since Mo Farah ran 28:04 in Cardiff in 2016. Only Farah and Chris Thompson have run quicker this century.

Nick finished comfortably ahead of a strong elite field that included GB internationals Adam Hickey (28:53), Andrew Heyes (28:56) and Ben Connor (29:03).

The result completes a string of seriously impressive performances on the road this year, including a 64:34 HM debut in Bath and the fastest long leg at the Southern Road Relays in Milton Keynes.
