Belgrave has been granted a licence to hold what looks to be the country’s first 3000m track races since lockdown.

The evening of graded 3k races will be held on Wednesday August 12th.

With a maximum of six athletes per race, the races will take place every 15 minutes, starting with a race targeting an 11:00 finish and concluding with an A-race targeting 8:10.

Entries can be made through the Opentrack online entry portal (run by Belgravian Gus Upton, incidentally) and queries should be made to men’s team manager Steve Gardner via email: stephendgardner@gmail.com.

Due to Covid-safe precautions, no spectators will be permitted inside the Millennium Arena, and all athletes will complete their warmups and cooldowns in the park outside the arena.

  • The club is especially grateful to our officials who have given up their time at short notice, without whom this event could not go ahead.
