UK 5km race walk championships, Birmingham

UKA CHAMPIONSHIPS BIRMINGHAM SUNDAY 1st July.

Well done to Maddy Shott who competed at the UKA championships in the 5km race walk on Sunday 1st July at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham.  She finished a solid 4th and not far off the third spot with a time of 27.08 for a pb.

She has had an erratic 7 months since taking up walking with slight injuries and a few disappointing races, but to reach UKA standard has been a speedy response and has been complimented on her style.

Her recent performances have been a second (first lady) over 10kms at Tillgate Park, a second in the Southern inter counties meeting (3Km) at Chelmsford and a win in 15.02 (pb) at Woodford in the Woodford evening meeting 3kms.

Maddy has also had exams to contend with, but with those behind her she is looking forward to a successful winter.
