Two Successful Inaugural Awards Events
Charlie Dickinson Writes
Two successful inaugural awards events were held last week and both very well attended by Belgrave Athletes.
Senior Awards
Last Saturday Belgrave Hall hosted an Awards Dinner, with a three course gourmet meal, wine and presentations for road, cross country and all the different track and field competitions. There was even an award for the Champagne Moment of the season with the win on the line by the 4 X 400m relay squad at Poole just edging out Tish Jones's huge win on Wimbledon Common after getting lost in the woods. Most gratifying was to witness so many athletes attending and enjoying a wonderful evening. Thanks go to Rose O'Brien for her brilliant organisation.

Junior Awards
Then on Thursday, the Junior Athletes had their party. It was held in the Thrive building, a brand new wooden building right next to the track at Battersea. With sandwiches, cakes, lemonade and coke laid on by Sian Goodlad, plus a Belgrave Harriers iced fruitcake, the youngsters were led straight off the track by Andrea Lynch and the other coaches straight after their session. Awards and certificates were presented by Andrea for various categories; U13, U15/17, Sportshall, Track, Field, etc.Special thanks go to Sian and Andrea plus all the Belgrave coaches, it was wonderful to see how the squad has expanded over the last couple of years and to see so many youngsters enjoying their athletics.
