A successful weekend for our Juniors

Kyle leads the way at the Nationals

SEAA Champs - 200mSEAA Champs - 100m

Following on from a successful run at the South of England Championships where he placed first in the 100m and 200m Kyle Reynolds-Warmington had his sights set on a clean sweep at the Nationals this past weekend at Bedford. At just 14 years old, it has been a tremendous season of achievements for Kyle with club records broken and PBs coming thick and fast, so it was no surprise that his performances at Bedford were of such a high standard.

100m and 200m Glory

[ezcol_1half]Competing at his first Nationals in both the 100m and 200m, he went into the competition as a clear favourite. On the Saturday Kyle managed to hold his nerve in the 100m to hold off the Medway & Maidstone athlete and clinch his first gold and National title all whilst running a PB and breaking the 11 second barrier with a time of 10.98 to set another club record.

It was then onto the 200m where he was a firm favourite and the race seemed like a formality. Ever the professional though, Kyle held his form and cruised to victory to take the double gold and national titles.

A big congratulations from all at Belgrave to Kyle for his runs and a big thank you to his coach Andrea Lynch and all the support team on the track and behind the scenes.

Elsewhere on the track...

There was more success for five of our other talented juniors who turned up to compete at the Herne Hill Open on Saturday with every one of them getting a PB in one of their events and many trying their hand at new events for the first time.

Matthew De Rossi - just back from a long holiday in Italy - went straight into the 400m and ran a PB of 50.95 ranking him 27th in the UK in U17's. There was also a PB for Rayon Edwards in the Shot with a healthy throw of 11.60m, his discus didn't disappoint with a 26.26m and a debut in triple jump saw a promising jump of 10.32m with more to come.

Isimeme (Izzy) Shaw broke his own PB in the 100m with 11.92 w -3.1 and tried shot put for the 1st time with a solid throw of 8.74m. Meanwhile Inza Dosso's PB came in the 100m with 12.29 before a run in the 200m of 24.76 and a first time in the triple jump with a handy 10.27m jump. His teammate Nicholas Hamilton also managed a PB in the 100m in 12.47 and the 200m in 24.98.

A big congratulations to all of these athletes who have progressed throughout the season.
