Round Up of Races With A few Belles Out In Force

First up on Wednesday 3rd May Zoe Doyle, again she was on form and ready for action! After the indoors season she has been building up her endurance, mostly off the track.  Her account:" I wasn't sure how I would run in my first race of the outdoor season. It was a 1500m at Watford open meeting on Wednesday the 3rd May. I was pleased when I was put in the same race as my training partner Steve. I just tucked into the group. I could feel the second lap was too slow but I wasn't feeling race fit so I stayed with the pack. The final 100m I went wide of everyone and finished strongly. However, should have committed earlier, but on reflection very happy with the time 4.44 produced on a cold and windy evening.  More Importantly only a second off my pb from three years ago. I am really hoping 2017 is going to be my best summer of racing on the track!Watford Open Meet Results 3 May 2017    "Zoe Doyle in Action" Then onto Sam Amend & Alex Miller who both ran at Bracknell Half Marathon on Sunday 7th May,  both won their respective races in what was a solo run to the line.  Alex stormed home in 1.13.04, which on that course was a pb from when he last run 3 years ago.  Then for me, I also run a course pb with over a  minute faster than her finishing in 1.20.37  off the back of glandular fever recovery.  It is not the flattest of courses,  but the windy conditions made it ideal for running including keeping my temperature down.Taking into account the course you have to negotiate with many underpasses, weaving around housing estates and from 6 -  9 miles climbing and crossing roads we are both really pleased with the end result."Yes your lungs hurt and your legs might be tired, but you just have to focus on reaching the finish line."Bracknell Half Results 7th May 2017
