In complete contrast to last year's 'white-out' when ice covered the course and the event was called off at the last minute, spring sunshine and warm weather prevailed. Spectators and runners alike were able to sit among the daisies on the infield at Stantonbury Stadium to watch the racing unfold.

The day saw an exceptional performance from the Belles. Although no match for an Aldershot team that had all six of their runners among the top twelve times of the day (including the two fastest) our squad were worthy winners of the silver medals with Tish Jones taking fourth fastest time.

The men's outfit were missing many stars and middle-order men but that gave the chance for a few new faces to race in the 'A' team and tenth place from 39 teams at the finish was excellent. Paskar Owor had a terrific run on the opening stint and the team were still in third after Craig Ruddy's third leg. As expected the team slowly slipped back but every single man gave a good account of himself.[/ezcol_1half_end]
