Mimi Corden-Lloyd wins Belles' B-team competition

The 'B' team competition was introduced a few years ago as an addition to the Ladies Plate.

Points are awarded to all runners who take part in team races who don't actually score for the 'A' team. The aim is not really to provide an incentive to turn up and race, more to value all the important members of the team who take part.

Having a large turn out for races provides an important presence for the club and there is nothing better for team morale. B team members also very often finish higher than A team members of other clubs which has the result of improving our A team's score.

In previous years, the competition has been very close often with two people sharing the award. This year Mimi Corden-Lloyd finished well out in front to add this prize to her win in the Ladies Plate competition.

Mimi has been an outstanding team member and thoroughly deserves her win. She joined the club specifically to race cross country and in a very long season has raced in all the winter fixtures except one.

The first to finish not scoring for the A team receives 10 points, the next nine etc. Here are the top eight scorers for the 2019/20 season:

Mimi Corden-LLoyd 65
Jojo Rhodes 34
Felicity Cole 29
Tasha Tennant 24
Natalie Nash 21
Stephanie Hewitt 20
Mhairi Hall 19
Samantha Amend 16
