It was a great weekend out for our juniors with our girl multi-eventers leading the charge for Belgrave with Ayse Hussein claiming 1st in the U15G Pentathlon and Milla McKenzie taking 3rd in the U17G Heptathlon.

Ayse smashed the field in the opening long jump event and it was pretty much uphill for the rest from theron in. With another top score in the 75m hurdles she really wasn't making it easy for anyone. A close second in the shot put and only relinquishing 4points to her closest rival at that point it was looking like a done deal going into the final two events. A fourth place in the high jump was backed up with a greatly improved 800m time to ensure that the top spot was hers in yet another confident victory from our U15 champ. Meanwhile up against some strong competition Milla opened day one of her competition with a solid run in the 80m hurdles before a clinical top score in her favoured high jump. The shot put followed with a valiant effort by Milla before finishing the day with a PB in the 200m. Coming into day two in third place with a 91 point gap to the lead and second place 39 points away but only one point separating her and the girl in fourth, it was going to be a tough day. Not phased at all though, Milla proceeded to pull out another two PBs in both the long jump and javelin before finishing with a solid performance in the 800m to ensure third place was safely hers. She even managed to close the gap to first place to 51 points with second place only a mere 9 points away so the top girls were never breathing easy. A truly inspired performance to top of a great season of PBs all around. (Results)

Not to be outdone by the girls, the boys once again proved their star quality with Inza Dosso, Kweku Siaw, Matthew de Rossi and Kyle Reynolds-Warmington coming 1st in the U15B 4x100 relay with a time of 46.53 that puts them 15th in the country for their age group. A fantastic performance from a team that has been going from strength to strength all season.

Even our U15G 4x100 relay team of Jasmin Kapele, Adeola Warner, Evelyne Adu Poku and Zorana Aleyedeino stepped up to enter at the last moment and managed 7th place, so with more practice we know they can only get better.[/ezcol_2third_end]

Congratulations to all our juniors who competed and the coaches and parents who have put in their time this season to support them. The results speak for themselves.
