Hunter-Bell defends 1500m title at UK Indoor Championships
Georgia Hunter-Bell won 1500m gold at the UK Athletics Indoor Championships for the second year in a row, spearheading a team of five athletes representing the club on the national stage.
Georgia’s victory was viewed through a very different lens to that applied to her gold medal in 2024. Twelve months ago, she was a returning force in the sport for some, a breakout star for others. This time round, the Olympic bronze medalist was the hot favourite in Birmingham, and rose to the occasion once more.
Georgia came through her heat safely in second place. She was joined at the start line by Emily Lowery, whose return from injury continues in breathtaking fashion, the Welsh athlete nailing a PB of 4:26 to finish 14th. A day later, Georgia secured victory ahead of Revée Walcott-Nolan for the second year in a row.

It was also a good weekend for Sarah Astin, who ran a superb personal best of 9:20.76 in a high-powered 3000m final to finish 10th.
Harry and Stoney storm to semi-finals
Two of the club’s star athletes had stellar weekends over the shorter distances to make it out of their heats. Siân Harry, fresh from victory at the Southern Indoor Championships, finished third in her 400m heat to make it the next round, where she finished fourth.
Louisa Stoney, meanwhile, made it to two semi-finals in Birmingham. Louisa only joined Belgrave Harriers in January, but has started 2025 in electrifying fashion, taking gold in the 200m and silver over 60m at the Welsh Indoor Championships in January in her club debut.
Louisa stepped up on the UK stage, progressing in both events while also setting three lifetime best performances over the weekend, as well as placing 10th in Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the 60m.
The weekend marked the end of a successful indoor season for Belgrave Harriers. We look ahead to the National Athletics League, where we will once more attempt to return to the top flight of British Athletics.
