A course record, marshal gaffe and a Bels 1,3,4

AR9A4096a_2-2In yet another dominant display of front running, Phil Wicks dismantled Andy Maud's Elmbridge course record on a day when times on the narrow and sandy course came up pretty slow for everyone else.  Wife Emily was outstanding to take her race too.At around 2k a dozy marshal allowed Gus Upton and SLH's Croft to go some 60 yards down the road to nowhere fast, and they spent the rest of the race grimly repairing the 20 seconds of damage.  They reassumed their spots in the race of 2 & 3, but it was Croft who had the extra strength that his 31:54 at London threatened.IMG_0631Hunting these two the whole way was brand new signing hot off the EA transfer lists James Williams who was head-hunted for us by his fiancee, our very own 'Catherine The Great' [Bryson].  Their beautiful young daughter Rosie was also in attendance.Over in the ladies, Zoe Vail Smith showed tidy progress from Richmond last month to turn her top 10.2% overall finish there to the top 7.2% here.1 P Wicks 30:38; 3 G Upton 33:23; 4 J Williams 33:41; 94 E Egelie M45 39:24; 202 P Cross M60 44:46.  583 ran.1 E Wicks 35:05; 6 Z Vail Smith 36:39.IMG_0634
