Busy weekend for R&C stars
A weekend off for club racing saw some fine individual success for the R&C squads.Sam Amend peeled off an astonishing fifth marathon since April and was within a minute or so of her PB, with a 2:43:19 for 24th at Valencia.Cross-country sceptic Sophie Carter, right, was seduced by the lure of an England vest to take a spin over the mud to place 6th W35 (2nd England finisher), at the British and Irish Masters International in Dublin.At parkrun, there was a fine flurry of Belgrave action. Wimbledon Common saw a pretty amazing 1, 3, 4 with Gus feeling his way back after a week off (16:27), Luke Pikett doing likewise after a long time out, and Gregg coming back to form nicely.At Bushy, Andrius had an outstanding run to card a 15:51, just 3 ticks down on his pb on a very slippery course, with Will residing a quarter mile back.And we provided the winner at Richmond with Paul taking bragging rights over GU by 3 tics.Finally, at Fulham Palace, Kezza proved she is in very good shape with a juicy pb of 18:43. 10 months out has done her good!
