SEAA Cross Country Championships, Parliament Hill.
Best ever team run by Belgrave's women - silver medals. Tish Jones third individual.
Saturday 25 January.
It's soon after the start of the Women's Championship and the climb to the top of Kite Hill begins. Already Tish Jones is prominent in 5th with Mel Wilkins, Jojo Rhodes and Sam Amend close behind. Nearly five miles later Tish strode up the finish funnel for a marvellous third individual place and with Mel not far behind in the 'teens and Sam and Zoe Doyle completing the scoring four, the Belles claimed a set of silver team medals. It was probably the best performance yet by a Belgrave women's cross country team.
In the men's event Paskar Owor had a horrible time, struggling over the nine miles of leg-sapping mud but he was still our first man home in 60th place. Two girls ran in the Under 13 race and both did well - Yasmin Marghini and Adelaide Clair.
