Belles finish eighth at Southern Road Relays

The Belles had two teams at Aldershot for the SEAA 4-Stage Road-Relay finishing eighth and 21st.

It's was so good to see New Zealander Martina Conner back running well after almost four years of injuries. She gave the 'A' team an excellent start coming home in 6th place on leg 1. Penny Oliver had only been back training a few weeks after a summer of injury, she found the hilly course tough but had a strong run with the team dropping just three places at the end of her stage.

Nadine Donegan had only recently returned to training after a summer break and then a chest infection. By this time the gaps were very large but Nadine maintained the Belles position of 9th. After a great summer of PBs, Emily Bradley produced the team's second fastest time of the day managing to pull the team up one place to finish in eighth place at the end of the four stages.

Samantha Munday took the first stage for the 'B' team, running strongly producing the teams fastest leg. She came home in 27th place.

After a very good run in the National the previous week, Sarah Riceman picked up three places on leg 2. Then Georgia Holden gained another five places to move the team up to 19th with a strong run after three stages. It was very nice to see Katie-Ellen French back running for the team after a few years during which she has had a baby and moved to Guildford. Katie struggled a bit on the hills but brought the team home in 21st.
