Belgrave's Nick Goolab finishes 2nd Brit at Stirling XC international
Belgrave star Nick Goolab again showed his cross country class on the world stage by finishing 2nd Brit and 10th overall at the Simplyhealth Great Stirling Xcountry meet.
Goolab, the fastest Belgravian over 3000m and 5k in 2018, finished one place behind Loughborough undergrad Patrick Dever but ahead of GB teammates including Olympians Ross Millington and Andy Vernon.
The individual race was one by USA's Hillary Bor, pipping Sweden's Napoleon Solomon, running for Team Europe.
USA beat Europe to win the team race, with GB well behind in a difficult day for the home team.
Stirling is Goolab's second international XC this season after the European Championships in December, which saw our man surge into the lead pack in lap 1 before dropping back a little later on.
He spoke recently on working with life coach Wendy Hilton to overcome confidence issues in race situations, and those breakthroughs have clearly contributed to a surge in form this winter.
His interview with the excellent Let's Get Running podcast starts at 12 minutes in:
