Belgrave's Georgia Bell wins Olympic 1500m bronze in Paris

Belgrave’s Georgia Bell won Olympic bronze with a sensational 1500m performance on the final night of athletics in Paris.

In doing so she improved her personal best by nearly four seconds to set a new British record of 3:52.61, over a second better than Laura Muir’s previous mark.

What seemed like a majority of Belgrave teammates had made the trip to the Stade de France to witness the moment for themselves, but those that remained in London gathered at Distortion Brewery in Battersea to watch Saturday night’s action.

Georgia’s bronze is the tenth Olympic medal in the club’s history, and the first since Phillips Idowu (silver) and Goldie Sayers (bronze) won medals at Beijing 2008.
