Fastpeople 2021

Welcome to the fourth edition of Fastpeople, our annual roundup of the fastest Belgravians over common flat distances this calendar year.

Entries this year were dominated by our Australian power couple Reece Edwards and Michelle Pearson, who occupied the top slots across 10K, HM and marathon. Michelle was also our fastest over 5K, and it was for that performance that she made it into the women’s Team of the Year lineup. Her 16:23 for second place at the Ardingly PB 5K in April was given a performance rating of 90.13 by Power of 10, ahead of her 87 rating for 10k at Chepstow the following month.

Sprinter Samuel Osewa, who joined the club from Croydon in 2020, recorded the highest-rated performance of any Belgravian this year. His 10.50s 100m in Stratford in June was rated at 93.24, just ahead of Michael Measter’s 93.15-rated 6.86s 60m run in Dagenham in August.

Samuel Osewa (100m and 200m), Samuel Gebreselassie (3k and 5k), Amy Mat (60m and 100m) and Katie-Ellen French (800m and 3k) each made it onto this year’s list twice.
